a brand new week . . .

First and foremost, thank you so much for the overwhelming support about the new job. Your sweet words here are over on twitter filled my heart with so much joy.

A few things that got me inspired this week were - a vintage necklace that I rediscovered, a birch box that smells like cinnamon is getting me excited for fall festivities to begin, my new favorite button-up that I got at the Chloe Rose anniversary party, putting away my summer fragrance was a bittersweet moment, and lastly, Dwellings is one of my favorite decor books - it is a must have for every household.

Hope all of you have a lovely first fall weekend - you can definitely sense a change in season here in San Francisco. Cheers to a new week!

a brand new week . . .

I hope all of you had a fabulous long weekend - it was a lovely one here. After a stunning Saturday spent in Napa, followed by Sunday at the Nob Hill spa with girlfriends (the zen room was heavenly), and Monday at home, I wish the weekend hadn't gone by so fast . . .

These are a few things that got me incredibly inspired this past week: one of my very favorite design books by Leslie Williamson - if you don't own it I highly recommend it (the photos and writing are impeccable). A vintage necklace and Moroccan slippers that I bought a few years ago from the flea market. Some delicious chocolates we've been savoring all weekend. And lastly, a new treasure for the house that was gifted to me from a dear friend (he saw me feature it on my blog). I'm in love with this new addition to my Asiter collection.

Hope all of you have a lovely week ahead. I have a feeling it's going to be a good one for all of us!

bookshelves: which one do you adore?

This week I decided to wander through the archives of Lonny Magazine and I quickly realized the they had an endless amount of beautiful bookcases. As I sifted through them there was something that drew me to different images - maybe it had to do with color or the way in which the books are arranged.

I truly believe that bookshelves are a form of art in a home - they are showcasing treasures. What do you look for when you're putting together a bookcase? And most importantly, which one of these do you adore the most?

to cover or not to cover?

I've thought long and hard about covering my books that I display on my bookcase. This image solidifies my thought about doing it - they look beautiful. Although, I don't think I have handwriting like that.

Wouldn't they look wonderful placed on your shelves? I sure think so.

book worm . . .

I dream of having an entire wall filled with wonderful books I want to read over and over again. From fiction, to non-fiction, to fabulous interior design books - I'd want them all to reside in my own little library. Wouldn't it be just marvelous?

These photos by the lovely Candice Lesage have been blogged about all over the place. They are stunning. It's treasures like this Jane Erye book that keep me going to flea markets and antique shops - you never know when you'll find a diamond in the rough.

breathtaking books covers . . .

As an interior designer I dream of having all my books look aesthetically pleasing in the space I'm decorating, but it doesn't happen very often. Often times the books I love the most don't have beautiful covers. Well, leave it to Coralie Bickford-Smith to do a fantastic job re-creating the covers of some of my favorite F. Scott Fitzgerald books - who doesn't love The Great Gatsby? These reads are definitely going on my wish list to fill in my bookcase!
