bedroom inspiration . .

Yesterday in my "four favorites" post I featured the Ornate bed - well I can't stop thinking about it and Christiane from Dwell Studio asked how I would decorate it if I owned it. I was totally up for taking a little bit of time to get creative and put together an inspiration board.

As you all know, I had to stick to my neutral colors, but added in fun textures to spice it up. The mix of a Madeline Weinrib rug, Bungalow 5 lamp, CB2 dressers and West Elm and Dwell Studio pillows make for a cozy sanctuary to cuddle in every night.

Now that I've created this board I wish the bed could magically appear at my doorstep.

press: apartment therapy

A few months ago Apartment Therapy approached me about featuring our tiny abode as a house tour - I was incredibly flattered. Well friends, yesterday it graced the pages of Apartment Therapy and I'm delighted to say it got a positive response (something I was nervous about). The ever so lovely Leela Cyd Ross took the stunning photos and I thought I'd share a few outtakes here.

A few items have changed in our apartment - new coffee table and light on my desk from HD Buttercup SF (which is becoming my new go-to shop), got a new pillow for the chair in the window from West Elm (it's SO soft) and I've re-arranged our West Elm bookcase.

I'd like to give a big shout out to my favorite shops to source items for my apartment - HD Buttercup SFWest ElmSummer House in Mill Valley, GrenouilleDesigner Fluff, and Erica Tanov Marin.

Be sure to head over to the feature for the entire home tour.

Thanks again for all of the amazing support friends! This blog wouldn't be the same without you. I've got to say, you keep me motivated to keep inspiring you daily.

bed: which one do you adore?

Last night my mom and I were sitting in her new condo discussing what style of bed she should purchase for the guest bedroom - from traditional to antique to modern . . . the possibilities are endless. So after searching for the perfect style I thought it might be fun to have all of you weigh in on your favorite style. Which do you adore the most?

I'm Loving . . .

These stunning branches.
 This perfect combination of neutrals.
Stacks of Moroccan blankets.
This fabulous quote.
And since spring hasn't sprung in San Francisco, I'm loving this bundled up look.

What are you loving this week?

I'm Loving . . .

Finally taking a few moments to open up a book felt incredibly soothing. There just isn't anything like it.
Dressing a little more casual when the sun is shining bright.
Spotted this runner and all I can think about was finding one of my own. It's stunning!
I couldn't agree with you more Audrey. I absolutely love this quote!
Hello lover . . . you are a thing of beauty. If you could be in my closet I'd carry you proudly on my shoulder.
The simplicity of this image is utterly divine. From the perfectly placed art work to the stunning site - it all works so well together.

black & white

I have redecorating on the brain - don't know why, but after a certain length of time having our place look the same, I get a redecorating itch. It's something every interior designer gets. I sit in our apartment and dream of how I could change it since we probably won't be moving for a little bit. When I came across this simple, clean and fresh black and white room I knew it was love at first sight. The crisp white sheets with pops of black make it sophisticated but with a touch of masculine edge that I think Eric would appreciate. This is being printed and put at the top of my inspiration binder.

What color combinations are you coveting right now?

simple sophistication . . .

Back in the beginning of October I fell in love with the decor that was featured in this photo - I immediately shared it with all of you in my "I'm Loving" post, but never explored finding the rest of the house.

Lucky for all of us, as I did my morning ritual of reading my favorite blogs on my iPad, I noticed that the lovely Jessica from Destined to Design posted about a home. The decor looked oddly familiar to the above photo and sure enough it was the entire home. The inner interior geek that I am got incredibly giddy and I couldn't pass up the chance to show you this incredibleapartment that mixes new construction with vintage finds.

Hope all of you adore this home as much as I do!

I'm Loving + a Winner . . .

This year I think I'm going to try something non-traditional for a Christmas tree - we're going to place it in a jar. When I came across this image I fell madly in love. Since we can't fit a big tree in our apartment, I think this is the perfect compromise.

I've been having trouble finding spices in my cabinet - love the way these are labeled!

I've been in an all black mood lately - it's probably due to the cooler temperatures.

Now for the winner of the Minted giveaway . . . CONGRATS Elissa from Ebb & Flow! I'll be emailing you soon with your gift card.

Hope all of you had a wonderful first day of December!

pillow party with apartment 34!

Finding the right decorative pillows can be challenging - finding the perfect fabric, pattern, size and filling is not an easy task. You'd be amazed how pillows can pack a powerful punch in a room. Boutique pillow line Designer Fluff does it better than most. Back in May I was introduced to Designer Fluff by my New York contributor, Lauren Larson and I instantly fell in love. The fabrics and patterns were incredibly unique.
Erin and I had the opportunity meet the lovely Audra Canfield during our summer trip to NYC and her personality shines through her stunning work. This quote epitomizes her approach to her designs:

Audra has generously offered up a extra special giveaway of two of their stunning pillows to Sacramento Street and Apartment 34 readers!

Here's how you enter:
That's it!

One winner will be chosen from Sacramento Street and Apartment 34 on Thursday, November 17 and announced on the Designer Fluff Facebook page.

Good luck lovelies, this is a giveaway you definitely won't want to miss out on!

hello november + winner!

Can you believe another month has passed? I certainly can't - I feel like October flew by since I started a new position at Kendall Wilkinson. It has been a whirlwind month. With November gracing us with beautiful, sunny and crisp days - I'm ready to dive into layering clothes and scarves, along with spending more time at home getting cozy and of course enjoying the holiday cups at Starbucks that just came out (they always put a little skip in my step).

I'd like to welcome two new November sponsors to Sacramento Street - Designer Fluff (an amazing giveaway is coming soon with them) and Michelle Drewes (my go-to photographer for just about everything). Be sure to pop over to both of their sites.

And now the moment you've all been waiting for the winner of the Graphic Image is . . . Gaby from The Vault Files! Huge CONGRATS to you! I'll be contacting you shortly with some giveaway details.

For those of you who didn't win, Graphic Image has kindly offered a discount for Sacramento Street readers. Upon checkout enter STREET to receive 20% off the entire store! This discount will be available for a month (hello, get some early Christmas shopping done!).

lighting: which one do you adore?

Since the days are getting shorter and darker, I've been thinking a lot about lighting in my apartment lately. Part of the reason is because when you rent you dream of the day you'll finally be able to switch out your lights. The other reason why I've been lusting after lighting is because it's so incredibly dark by the time I get home these days. Instead of turning on my boring standard lights, I'd love to have something inspiring hanging above me. So that's why the other day I set out on a mission to find different lighting options. My favorites - number one and three, but of course I'd rather find out which one you adore?

I'm Loving . . .

Perfecting a messy bun seems more challenging than wearing my hair down. Do any of you feel the same way? This one in particular is at the perfect height and is slightly messy, but not too messy that it looks like you just rolled out of bed. I'll be attempting it this weekend.

A delicious treat that's perfect for a movie night at home. It's the grownup version of milk and cookies!

Who doesn't need a little metallic on their desk? This is going on my Christmas wish list.

It's been another whirlwind week at work and after tomorrow's photo shoot I'll be ready to unwind at home being lazy and cozying up in bed with my stack of magazines I've been neglecting. Wish we could skip Friday and go straight into the weekend!

PS. Don't forget to enter the iPad case giveaway with Graphic Image - pop on over to enter!

bathroom: which one do you adore?

I always find myself admiring beautiful bathrooms - probably because it's something that I dream about often. From the tile, to the fixtures, to the colors you can pick out, I'm always in awe at how people decide to design their bathroom.

If you could pick one of these beautiful bathrooms, which one would you pick for your home?
