bathroom: which one do you adore?

Since I got several emails about how much all of you loved the kitchen post last week I thought I would continue to do posts similar, but with different rooms. This past weekend while I was home I realized what a luxury it is to have a big bathroom and on top of that a well decorated one. I've been longing to rip out our medicine cabinet and light fixed above it for five years - my husband knows it drives me nuts that the light isn't center with the cabinet and sink . . . why did they do that?

Anyway, each of these bathrooms above have something I would love to have. For one, a bathtub and two sinks would be a plus for the mornings we are rushing out the door. To me, number one would be heavenly, but the fact is that I would take any of these! Which one is calling your name?

happy monday!

Hello everyone! I'm back from a lovely weekend in Portland, hope you had a great one too. I'm actually still making my way back to San Francisco this morning after a canceled flight last night but lucky for me it meant that I got to spend time with family and enjoy the last part of the Academy Awards - what did you think of the winners, fashion and hosts? I thought Mila Kunis, Reese Witherspoon and Michelle Williams looked stunning AND Hilary Swank's hair was to die for chic, so Hollywood glam! I'd love to hear what you thought.

Have a wonderful weekend!

it's friday!

Last night’s SF cocktail soiree went off without a hitch - it was lovely to meet new bloggers and of course catch up with old friends. Check out some photos on Alicia and Taylor's blog. I look forward to the next (yes, it's already in the works)!

Today I'm off to spend the weekend in Portland. Looking forward to fresh snow, my favorite restaurants, spending quality time with my wonderful mom and hosting a baby shower. It'll be a jam packed weekend, but I'm excited.

Hope all of you have a beautiful weekend where ever you might be.

spring fever

Every season I wait with baited breath for the Toast catalogue to come out. This early spring issue doesn't disappoint - it had me day dreaming about re-decorating (these interiors are to.die.for), spring cleaning so that I can add some fabulous clothes into my wardrobe and of course traveling the world. Not to mention, each outfit makes me crave warmer temperatures and sunshine days!

What are you looking forward to the most this coming Spring? Warm weather? Sunshine? Cotton dresses? Sandals? I'd like all of the above - a girl can dream, right?

breathtaking mill valley wedding

Since my best friend Nicole got engaged I've got the urge to start my Wedding Wednesday posts again. I’m elated they are engaged! We've been brainstorming different parts of the Bay Area to get married and when I stumbled upon this gorgeous wedding that took place in Mill Valley I couldn't resist posting it. I've passed this "secret" garden many times with Nicole on our weekend trips up to the North Bay - it's truly magical. This wedding made my heart skip a beat with the feminine and somewhat whimsy feel, although I have a feeling it has to do with the fact that Nicole is finally going to be walking down the aisle. Oh my, the tears are already coming!

a touch of 70's

This ensemble had me wanting to go shopping in a bad way - the touch of blush pink is what got my heart going pitter-patter. Another show stopper, Anna's legs look positively endless in those jeans. Utter perfection in my book - especially with the touch of leopard!

On another note: Be sure to pop over to Refinery29 to vote for Anna. She's in the running for being Refinery29's next BIG style blogger!

kitchen: which one do you adore?

There is something about each of these kitchens that strikes my fancy. I keep going back and forth about whether I would want a rustic or more modern kitchen in my next home. Which one is calling your name?

blue hues

Ever since we accidentally painted our apartment a grayish/blue I've been so attracted to homes that have blue hues. A touch of blue does wonders to a home - it makes it feel like a peaceful oasis. This living room in particular has my heart beating a little bit faster or could it be the beautiful hardwood floors? Both are incredible.

happy monday!

What a weekend - I got to spend the day chatting away with Alicia and Taylor, found my new favorite nail polish color (Tickle My France-y), and the best part, my best friend got ENGAGED! I couldn't be more excited for the happy couple. Mostly I'm relieved that I no longer have to keep it a secret anymore . . . it was rough. I had so much fun planning the night with her fiance and I got the pleasure of helping him pick out her beautiful ring. I'm still giddy with excitement!

I hope all of you have a wonderful start to your week, whether you've got the day off or you're working. I look forward to a busy week (when is not?) but I'm especially excited about our San Francisco blogger cocktail soiree on Thursday night!

it's friday!

This weekend will be spent half running around getting work crossed off my to-do list and the other half enjoying quality time at home. I'm excited for both!

I hope all of you enjoy a lovely weekend filled with a little time to relax and possibly a peek of sunshine.

xo, Caitlin

PS. Don't forget to check out my guest post over on Sarah's blog - it was a fun one to put together!

I LOVE . . .

One of my favorite new handbag companies, Les Composantes, came up with a fun blog post - if only mine looked like these. I've been looking for a new handbag since last Spring - can't wait for the gray on to be deliver! I love that you can carry it or put it over your shoulder. It's perfect for all the traveling I'll be doing in the next few months.

Don't speak French? Don't fret, the Les Composantes site will be translated to English by March! Can't wait since I'm currently trying to translate it myself with my broken French.

PS. They also ship to the US!

un petit kitchen

Living in San Francisco you're almost always guaranteed to have a small kitchen. This picture has me wanting to do a renovation on mine - love the shelves, white cabinets and black marble counters. Now I'm off to brainstorm a way to convince my landlord that a little renovation is needed.

a perfect combination

This classic outfit has me day-dreaming for warm spring days where I can spend the day brunching with girlfriends and finding treasures at consignment shops around the city. Ahhhhh, a girl can dream - instead I'll be wearing rain boots and my trench for the next couple of days.

sponsor post: pretty mommy

One of my favorite new online shops is Pretty Mommy - thank you Joslyn. I've got into a wee bit of trouble . . . purchasing some wonderful basic t-shirts (I wear them almost everyday) and a Clare Vivier clutch that I'm obsessed with. I got stopped twice on the street by people asking me where I got my clutch. In my book that means it was a good purchase.

Michelle carries a wide array of merchandise that ranges from home decor, bedding, handbags, scarves and jewelry.

Be sure to pop on over because right now, she's taking 25% off all orders over $150, enter LOVE at checkout.

a little cocktail soiree!

Since the last blogger soiree in January was a smashing success Alicia, Katie, Taylor and I decided that we should start having them more often. So we enlisted the fabulous Lindsay to help us find a beautiful space for this month's gathering. Well ladies (and gents), we've hit a home run - the owner of Lalola has reserved their private room for us on Thursday, February 24 at 6pm. They'll be providing appetizers for our entire group and giving us happy hour prices the entire night. We even have some doorprizes in the works from Gilt City and Yes to Carrots!

If you can't make it on time, don't fret - when you get a group of bloggers together we end up mixing and mingling for at least a couple of hours. So, if you're free come stop by and we might even have some gift bags in the works!

So, mark your calendars! Look forward to seeing all of you again.

a touch of leopard

Last Tuesday I was completely jealous of all my friends attending Lucky's FABB conference in New York, but I've got to say Lucky did an incredible job with their livestream. I was able to watch each panel online - I was speechless. This is one of the first conferences that I've wanted to attend that has done livestream. It's pure genius!

Well, when my girl crush and fashion idol, Jenna Lyons panel came on, I was giddy - my god, I can't imagine how I would have been if I had actually been there. I was completely star struck from the West Coast.

When I came across this photo, Vanessa Jackman snapped of Jenna Lyons on Lucky.com I fell in love with the combination of black, olive green and a touch of leopard (anyone know who designed the handbag?). This outfit is pure perfection in my book. I could seriously wear this look every single day of the week.

What do you all think of this look?

PS. If you missed watching any panels, go here. I definitely took something away from each one.

happy monday + love day!

Love is in the air - happy valentine's day lovelies! Wish I could send all of you a homemade valentine like when we were in elementary school.

Whether you're celebrating tonight or you did something special this weekend, I hope it was filled with lots of love, a glass of bubbly and a chocolate treat (I mean, why not?). I'll be enjoying today sending lots of love to my friends and family. You can never have enough love so you might as well pour your heart out.

Hope all of you have a wonderful and beautiful day!

Sacramento Street on ElleDecor.com!

What a great way to end a wonderful week. I'm so tickled to have been featured on Elle Decor's website - one of my all time favorite magazines. Since it's a magazine that I've been reading since I can remember, it means even more to be part of their "Design Insiders’ Weekly Finds."

If you've never been to Jessica's utterly inspiring blog, Destined to Design - go now! When I need a burst of inspiration it's the first place I go. Plus, she's the sweetest lady out there in the blogsphere.

Hope of all of you have a lovely weekend - I'm off to celebrate with a little bubbly!

TGIF!

Hello weekend - I'm totally ready to embrace this weekend with open arms. Although it will be filled with work onSaturday, I'm going to try out this new hairstyle, indulge in a delicious brunch with Eric, enjoy a gathering with friends outdoors, and since the sun is still shining bright, I'll be walking my way around the city as I get my errands done.

What are all of you lovelies up to this weekend? You've got to have something fun planned!

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

xoxo,
Caitlin

This month I'm honored to be guest judging the Minted Design Challenge along with Erin from Design for Mankind and Meg from A Practical Wedding. Let me just tell you, I'm overwhelmed and blown away with the amazingness that is already flooding in - it's going to be quite a challenge to pick my favorite. With only ten days left to submit your unique shower invitations for brides, moms-to-be or couples either getting married or having a baby, you better get designing readers! I know there are TONS of creative people out there that need to start designing.

These are just a few that I'm loving right now, but I have a feeling we'll be getting tons more submissions in the next couple of days that I'll be going gaga over. Hope to see all of you over on Minted! Let the creative juices start following!
