snuggled down . . .

When I spotted this beautiful room over on Miss Erin's blog, it immediately had me daydreaming of going home to curl up in a comfty outfit with my luscious faux fur blanket accompanied by a cup of Mariage tea and my brand new book. With the hectic week I've had I thought that instead of going home to work, it is a perfect night to keep my computer in my work bag and check out for a night. Nite, nite lovelies - I'll be back tomorrow!

A clean and neutral palate. The carefully chosen items that create a working space you can actually use without things that you don't need. Comfort, inspiration boards, and rooms filled with life. What's not to love. Copenhagen you are calling my name!

blue hues

Ever since we accidentally painted our apartment a grayish/blue I've been so attracted to homes that have blue hues. A touch of blue does wonders to a home - it makes it feel like a peaceful oasis. This living room in particular has my heart beating a little bit faster or could it be the beautiful hardwood floors? Both are incredible.

Thanks to the lovely Holly of decor8, I was instantly filled with inspiration as I devoured each home featured on Freunde von Freunden. It's a great interiors/lifestyle site based in Berlin. It's nice to see homes that are photographed as though they didn't get cleaned up. Freunde von Freunden is sort of similar to The Selby, but everyone that FvF photographs is working in a creative profession.

This image in particular kept coming up in my mind - I kept going back to it. I love the combination of the mirror with the peacock feathers and then the glass globes, not to mention that killer side lamp. Be sure to check it out, you're bound to find several homes you will fall head over heels in love with.

perfect balance

In this month’s issue of Covet Garden it features photographer Tracy Schumate’s home. It's just the right balance of a rustic country house and a scandinavian home. There are definitely a few things I'm going to steal from Tracy's home - the giant chalkboard (it's amazing - need to find one stat!) and the fabulous calendar.

Can I move right in? This home out of Nuevo Estilo is one hundred percent my style - neutral palette, a few modern touches and antique treasures. Don't even get me started on the leather couch. le sigh . . .

tranquility + simplicity

Last night while I was organizing my apartment (it's out of control right now) all I wanted to do was blink my eyes and have everything magically fit into our cabinets. Unfortunately, that isn't the case, but in due time we'll get our apartment in order.

This tranquil home put me at ease last night. Envisioning a clean, crisp and simple look is just want I'm in the mood for. That's just what I'm going to try to achieve this summer when I'm re-decorating our little abode. Everything about this home screams comfort, which brings a smile to my face.

Sun-drenched: A Touch of Spain

Do you ever day-dream about floor to ceiling windows? Where light pours through and lights the house up instantly. It's something I dream about on a daily basis.

This home is what I envision having in my future. A sun-drenched home, crisp whites, with a touch of color added into the mix. Everyone needs a little burst of color in their life.

Thompson Sisters: Antonia

Antonia's condo is the complete opposite of her sister Victoria's. Her decor aesthetic consists of mixing vintage and modern. She also has a mixture of high and low end decor. In Lonny, they best describe it as a bit of "hodgepodge" because she tends to decorate-as-she goes.

I can relate to how Antonia decorated her condo because that is exactly how I learned how to decorate from my Mom. Just start collecting what you love and eventually you'll figure out how to put it all together.

The mix of modern and vintage in the living/dining room works perfectly together. I'm still amazed that Antonia was able to decorate most of her condo by shopping on eBay. Wish I was eBay savvy, but I haven't mastered it quite yet. It's definitely on my "things to learn" because the pieces she found are fabulous.

Almost anybody will kill to have a fireplace, but to have one this gorgeous is something I'm completely envious of.

Simple but chic, that's all you need to have a great looking bar.

Anything in Hermes orange adds just the right pop of color to any home. But filled with jewelry like this is just down right amazing.

All of you know I have a love for desks and this one is perfectly put together. It's clean, sleek and minimal, which makes me love it even more.

I hope you enjoyed looking at both Victoria and Antonia's beautiful condos. They are so different, but both condo's brought me inspiration in different ways. I hope they brought you a little inspiration as well.

Thompson Sisters: Victoria

When I'm looking for a little inspiration I'm usually attracted to things I don't normally go for. Weird right? When I was thumbing (clicking, I like to think that it's printed magazine) through Lonny's third issue, I was drawn to the Thompson sister's apartments. They are world's apart in terms of design, yet Antonia and Victoria live in the same building.

Victoria's inspiration comes from the 50s and 60s. Her apartment is filled with bright patterns, Lucite, and lots of texture. If feels as though you should be in Palm Beach, not New York.

What I'm drawn to the most is the color palette. The turquoise and chartreuse are refreshing.

One thing that Lonny Magazine does a fabulous job at is featuring bars. Since they started I've been wanting one in my apartment. Once I move into a bigger apartment I hope to have a bar just like the one above. My favorite part is the apple, it's perfectly placed.

I've been inspired by the way people display their jewelry. I think putting the jewels you wear the most on a tray is the perfect way to have them on a dresser. That way you can quickly put the last touches of your outfit on in the morning.

Ok, I'm a HUGE tray lover. Probably because when you put items on trays it makes a room feel more organized. More importantly, I've been trying to find a heart-shaped bowl (like the one above). Does anyone know where it's from?

What an amazing desk. Other than the fact that everything is perfectly placed, the desk itself is great. I think anyone would love a desk that has a place to store magazines. I know I do.

It's a thing of beauty. I've dreamed about having a Barcelona chair for a long time and this confirms it.

Kitchen Envy

There's nothing like a fabulous kitchen. And let my tell you that I'm green with envy about this particular one. Wishing and hoping that it could be mine.

I'm a HUGE sucker for any room decorated in all white with a splash of green. Why? Because my entire apartment is decorated in all-white with touches of green, linen and brown.

I love how organic this space feels (it's not filled with electrical appliances). My other two favorite things are the open cabinets and of course the green counter. The simplicity of this kitchen is utter perfection.

A Beautiful Luxury: Les Indiennes

When I'm looking for a little inspiration one of first places I go to is the Les Indiennes lookbook. Five years ago I started working at Erica Tanov and I fell in love with the Les Indiennes bedding we carried.

Mary Mulcahy creates a simple, fresh and rustic look that embodies what is authentic to India, but as she says "meets the Western eye."

Specializing in 100 percent natural cotton bedding that is hand blocked using ancient traditions and natural vegetables dyes. When you look at each piece they create it looks like a work of art. Such a luxury!
