Today I'm excited to be featured on the Everygirl with Erin from Apartment 34. You'll get a little glimpse into what it's like to decorate and live with a big and tiny kitchen. It was so much fun working with the lovely and talented Kate Webber - her photos are incredible.

I've received a lot of emails asking to see my kitchen because I've never really featured it in my home tours. Well friends, here it is. So feast your eyes - it's teeny tiny!

kitchen: which one do you adore?

One could say that I'm very particular about my kitchens - I want my future kitchen to be clean, minimalist and ALL white. As my mom and I stood in her kitchen daydreaming about what we would do with it, I began to think of all the possibilities . . . the tile, counter, stove, shelving. The sky is the limit, and there are so many options out there.

So these are a few of our many favorites that we've tagged over the past few months. Some are just vignettes and others are whole kitchens - I'd love to know which you adore.

Why hello there clean, crisp, minimalist kitchen. So nice of you to grace us with your presence. You are just lovely in every way. From your all white walls to your dream-worthy stove. From the moment I laid eyes on you on Simply Grove I haven't been able to get you out of my mind.

I'm Loving . . .

The perfect ensemble to run around town.

Stunning blooms are popping up at flowers shops and the flower market. These in particular are drop-dead gorgeous!

If only everyone could have a set of all white Le Creuset like the above. I think that's what kitchen heaven would look like.

I'm all about cuffed jeans.

In my quest to try different black teas - this one is being added to my wish list.

on the menu: roasted broccoli and cauliflower soup

The past few days have been quite chilly here in San Francisco - I know that sounds crazy for all of you on the East Coast or Midwest, but for the Bay Area it feels cold. As I scoured to find a yummy soup to warm me up, this roasted broccoli and cauliflower soup caught my eye. It's the perfect combination. I have a feeling this will also make for delicious leftovers.

Bon appetit!

Ingredients:

• 1/3 cup olive oil
• ½ medium onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
• 2 heads broccoli with stems / 450g
• ½ head of cauliflower / 450g
• 4 cups chicken stock
• 1 cup water
• 1 teaspoon fresh thyme
• 1 teaspoon fresh parsley
• 3 cloves garlic, cut in half
• 2 teaspoons coarse salt
• ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
• 1 cup non-fat greek yogurt

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 425° F.
2. Cut broccoli and cauliflower into similarly sized pieces.
3. Place vegetables and spices in a large mixing bowl.
4. Drizzle oil over the vegetables and toss to coat completely.
5. Pour vegetables on a shallow baking sheet and roast for 25-30 minutes until somewhat soft and browned.
6. Allow vegetables to cool slightly. Remove some or all of the garlic.
7. Place half of the warm vegetables in a blender with 1 cup of stock to puree. Pour the puree into a pot. Repeat with the other half of the vegetables.
8. Add the remaining stock and water to the pot.
9. Bring soup to a boil and then reduce to simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
10. If firm pieces of vegetables remain, process the soup with a immersion blender.
11. Stir in the greek yogurt.
12. Serve warm.

I'm Loving . . .

I never tire of open shelving - every single image I come across of open shelving brings on a new love affair with it. The contrast of the white/neutral tones against the black makes it look even more chic.

The sun has been shining here and if it stays this way I'm going to make this wardrobe my staple look. It's perfect for running around the city.

When I came across this recipe my mouth started watering - this lasagna is making an appearance in my kitchen when the city is engulfed in fog.
I've got a huge crush on these No. 6 clogs. I think I've been lusting after them for far too long and it's high time I make a special place for them in my closet. This chestnut color is divine and pretty much perfect for fall.

You probably get sick of me talking about a few things that I wish I could change about our apartment - the kitchen and bathroom fixtures in particular. This bathroom mirror is perfection. Paired with the white subway tile and unique sink - this bathroom definitely has my name written all over it!

On another note, today I was quoted in The Wall Street Journal talking about the Alameda Flea Market. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that would happen but that day has come. I'm over the moon right now!

There is a special place in my heart for a beautifully designed small kitchen. This one caught my eye yesterday and I haven't been able to get it out of my head. From the open shelving, to the all white palette - this kitchen makes me want to do a total renovation on my tiny kitchen. A few other elements that have my heart going pitter patter - the wrought iron pieces on the wall organizing the silverware, the semigloss painted floor and of course the beautiful sink. One day I'll be able to do an overhaul, but until then I'll daydream about this perfect tiny kitchen.

Why hello there kitchen I've been dreaming about my entire life! The open shelving, white cabinets and of course a Viking stove is making me swoon. You're really tempting me to rip out my current kitchen . . . if only I didn't rent. This is going straight to the top of my kitchen inspiration file!

Do you ever dream of having sky high ceilings? Well, feast your eyes on this beauty . . .

When I came across this stunning kitchen over on Delight by Design I was in awe - the ceiling, the stone, the cleans lines and of course a touch of rustic are all ideal elements I look for in a kitchen. It's the perfect mix of old and new. What do you look for in a kitchen?

Today, I fell head over heels for this kitchen - the colorful tiles (LOVE), brick ceiling, and the fact that the walls don't have a lot of cabinets is a huge plus in my book. Whenever I see beautiful kitchens like this one, it always gives me the urge to completely renovate ours (especially if I could have the bright hot pink chair, what an unexpected pop of color).

This kitchen is definitely going into my "dream house" inspiration file.

a lovely breakfast . . .

My husband and I are always looking for new recipes to cook on the weekends - scrambled eggs and pancakes aren’t doing it for us anymore. So when I came across this clever recipe for dippy eggs and soldiers recipe I knew it would be the perfect thing to make on a quite Sunday morning. Let me tell you, this simple recipe is something I want to start making every single morning before work. It's incredibly satisfying.

spring forward . . .

I've been longing for days where it stays light just a little longer - it's finally here. For some reason the air feels a little fresher today, a sign that sunshine and spring are near. Le sigh, I love Spring!

On another note, my thoughts and prayers have been with everyone affected in Japan. If you have a moment please head over to american red cross or text redcross to 90999 to make a $10 donation. When tragedies like this happen it puts everything into perspective in your everyday life.

kitchen: which one do you adore?

There is something about each of these kitchens that strikes my fancy. I keep going back and forth about whether I would want a rustic or more modern kitchen in my next home. Which one is calling your name?

Living in San Francisco you're almost always guaranteed to have a small kitchen. This picture has me wanting to do a renovation on mine - love the shelves, white cabinets and black marble counters. Now I'm off to brainstorm a way to convince my landlord that a little renovation is needed.

Ikea Kitchen Envy

Who would have thought that IKEA would style such a beautiful kitchen? Can I move right in? It's the kitchen people dream of - open shelving, white cabinets, huge sink, and pretty much anything you'll need when cooking a meal. I might have to take a trip to IKEA in the near future.

Kitchen Envy

There's nothing like a fabulous kitchen. And let my tell you that I'm green with envy about this particular one. Wishing and hoping that it could be mine.

I'm a HUGE sucker for any room decorated in all white with a splash of green. Why? Because my entire apartment is decorated in all-white with touches of green, linen and brown.

I love how organic this space feels (it's not filled with electrical appliances). My other two favorite things are the open cabinets and of course the green counter. The simplicity of this kitchen is utter perfection.
