it's friday + link love!

Wowza, this week has got the best of me. I feel as though I've been completely MIA on twitter - missing out on a whole lot, but work has been busy busy.

By the time you read this I will be on a plane to LA for the opening day of the Maison de Luxe Greystone Mansion opening. The entire Kendall Wilkinson team will be there to see our room in person - the photos I've seen are stunning. I can't wait to see all of the rooms, mingle with bloggers I haven't seen in awhile, hear a few lectures and then toast to a fabulous team. On Saturday I'm meeting up with Jessica and Fallon for lunch - I can't wait to meet them both! Then I'll be back to SF for a dinner party. Phew, it's going to be a busy little weekend, but it's going to be a blast!

While I'm away be sure to pop over to these links:

- These book covers have me swooning.

- Erica Tanov is hosting a holiday soiree Saturday at the SF store (if you live here be sure to stop by) and they are participating in the Remodelista Holiday Market at the Marin Country Mart - I'm totally bummed I'm going to be out of town.

- Love this fall look.

- I'll definitely be making this for lunch next week!

Hope all of you have a lovely weekend ahead.

xx, Caitlin

off to the desert . . .

After experiencing a extremely cold summer here in San Francisco, Eric and I thought it was time to get the heck out of this gloomy climate and take a vacation to Palm Springs. We're going with a fun group of friends - some old and some new, which makes it a perfect combination for a fun time.

Sunshine, lounging by the pool, and cooking delicious meals is what I'm looking forward to this weekend. I'm signing off early this week. Be sure to follow me on twitter and instagram to get an inside peek into the trip.

While I'm away be sure to check out these fabulous posts:

*NYFW has come and gone, but this round up is the best I've yet to see . . .

*Transitioning into fall looks, I'm loving this ensemble . . .

*Weather is getting crisp, so these essentials might be necessary soon . . .

*Need some inspiration? Be sure to follow Mr. Grant on Pinterest . . .

* Be sure to check out my interview on Interior Connector . . .

Have a lovely weekend everyone! I'm off to enjoy some warm weather!

it's friday + link love!

This weekend I am off to get away from the madness of the busy work week - I'll be driving down to Carmel with my mom to spend some quality time with my family. It's just what the doctor ordered. Plus my aunt and uncle just finished renovating their entire house so I'm excited to see it all finished. I'm looking forward to drives along to ocean (a must with my uncle - he loves showing us what's new), walking their Beagle Lucy, shopping trips to Carmel by the Sea, tea time with the family and long dinners around the table. So if you're looking for me - I'll be in my comfies hanging out with the family!

While I'm away check out a few highlights from the week:

* Dreaming of having a dinner party with these essentials.

* This lovely palette has my heart swooning.

* Already thinking of transitioning my wardrobe from summer to fall.

* I've got the travel bug because of Simone's trip on the coast and Peggy's trip overseas.

* Lastly, a few things I've been coveting this week . . .

Also, thank you to my wonderful new August sponsors Interior Connector, Public Bikes and La Boutique. All of these companies are amazing and if you have the time you should take a peek at each of their sites - I promise you'll love them.

Hope all of you have a wonderful and relaxing summer weekend. Enjoy every minute of it!

Caitlin

camp terrain . . .

I’ve been following Terrain for many years and daydreamed about what the store was like in person. Let me tell you, it’s beyond what you would expect. I’m going to warn you now, once you read this you’ll want to jump in your car or a plane and go visit. It’s out of this world and I wish it was around the corner from my house – although that would be dangerous.

As we embarked on our blogger’s day at Terrain we were welcomed by nature surrounding us in every which way, and the staff made us feel right at home. Everywhere you turned your head you were greeted with beauty – the plants, buildings and merchandise. I was in awe.

We had a full day of activities from a terrarium workshop, to a tour of the entire property that included them telling us about how they come up with inspiration for the entire store. We also has some amazing spa time in a mushroom hut and ended the marvelous day with a seven course meal that was out of this world (not to mention the group of people sitting around me were amazing and made me laugh so hard).

Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better day – it’s just what I needed. It’s something I wish I would do every day. Thank you to the entire Terrain team for bringing us out for summer camp and making it a day I will always remember. Next time we’ll have to sing around a camp fire.

home sweet home . . .

After a whirlwind time hitting the streets of New York and enjoying a lovely day of summer camp at Terrain right outside Philadelphia, I’m excited to be making the journey back home to San Francisco.

This past week has inspired me beyond words – I think that’s what traveling does to people. From exploring New York in the blazing heat with my favorite girls (Erin,Camille, and Lisa), to spending a day with talented bloggers, to making my first terrarium – the entire trip was magnificent and truly inspiring.

Here are a few of my favorites from this trip – a necklace I picked up at the Brooklyn Flea Market in Williamsburg by World Trades Fair, the Standard hotel that was too cool for school, hanging out with my NYC contributor Lauren from Material Lust, delicious chocolate cover honeycomb (yes, it heavenly) and lastly Terrain. Words cannot describe how inspiring it was. Don’t worry, a whole post is coming up tomorrow with details about my time there.

Hope all of you have had a wonderful week thus far.

our journey to santa fe . . .

I've been giddy all morning waiting for the much anticipated launch of Matchbook Issue 3. My mom and I had the pleasure of writing a travel article about our trip through Santa Fe this past week. When the lovely ladies of Matchbook approached us with the idea I was nervous, excited and ready to hit the ground running. As we drove into beautiful Santa Fe we were filled with a feeling that made us feel welcomed.

Pop over to Matchbook's April issue (page 36) to read our entire story (my heart literally skip a beat when I first saw it). You'll also get the 411 on the best places to stay, mouth-watering restaurants and the AMAZING shops we got to explore. Yes, we spent hours talking with all of these shop owners - it made the trip that much better.

Enjoy!

a brand new week . . .

Good morning lovelies! I'm back home in San Francisco. I had an amazing mother-daughter trip to Santa Fe. Thank you for ALL of your recommendations - in the five days that we were there we accomplished a lot, while also taking some time to relax. Although I wish I was still on vacation, it's nice to be back at home. I'll have lots of fun posts this week - including a post about Santa Fe.

Hope all of you had a wonderful weekend!

southwestern casual

Hope you are all having a wonderful week. I've been enjoying my vacation in Santa Fe exploring, treasure hunting and relaxing. It's nice to ditch city clothes and put on some comfys. There have been a few indulgences here and there - finding an amazing store that gave me loads of inspiration, talking to locals and most importantly spending quality time with my mom. To top it all off it has been sunny with a light breeze . . . it's rejuvenating to slow down and enjoy life.

it's friday!

Last night’s SF cocktail soiree went off without a hitch - it was lovely to meet new bloggers and of course catch up with old friends. Check out some photos on Alicia and Taylor's blog. I look forward to the next (yes, it's already in the works)!

Today I'm off to spend the weekend in Portland. Looking forward to fresh snow, my favorite restaurants, spending quality time with my wonderful mom and hosting a baby shower. It'll be a jam packed weekend, but I'm excited.

Hope all of you have a beautiful weekend where ever you might be.

Alt Summit Bound

By the time you read this I'll be airborne on my way to Salt Lake City for Alt Summit. I'm excited to be attending this year and can't wait to meet so many people. But don't worry, I've got posts regularly scheduled and if you're interested in what's happening at Alt - be sure to follow me on twitter, where I'll be updating about all of the fabulous things going on!

fashion: alt summit wardrobe

With a busy week ahead, I had to pack this weekend for the much anticipated Alt Summit. You've been hearing me talk about it here and on twitter - everyone that's going has been counting down the days since October. Packing for Salt Lake was tough, because of frigid weather, lifestyle bloggers with amazing fashion sense and parties being announced that will be hosted by he Girls With Glasses and Kate Spade, HGTV, Wilsonart and Provo Craft - how's a girl supposed to even begin to pack?

Well, here is a little peek at what I'm bringing with me - lots of layers, sequined tops, jewels and belts to accessorize with and my favorite pairs of shoes. Let me tell you, there is a lot of black and navy going on in my wardrobe! Whoops.

Can't wait to board the plane and be on my way Wednesday morning! Plus, I have the best roomies (Erin and Kristen) - I think we'll be getting into trouble together.

See you all there!

ps. If you need help organizing your suitcase, you can print out this packing list created by the wonderful Kelly of Design Crush.

it's friday!

Is it just me or as time passes do the weeks get shorter and shorter? I'm overjoyed that it's the weekend. Ihave a girls night planned, date night with Eric (we're going to see The Fighter) and I'll be packing for the much anticipated Altitude Design Summit in Salt Lake City, Utah next week. You've probably been hearing a lot of bloggers talking about it on their blogs and on twitter. Putting together outfits is daunting - lifestyle bloggers all in one place, talk about amazing style overload.

Wish I had Monday off, but alas, my company doesn't give us MLK off. I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday weekend!

jumping for joy

Walking out of the airport last night I was graced with warm summer air that I was beginning to think I'd never experience again. Spending the evening eating fresh vine ripe heirloom tomatoes, enjoying a blueberry limeade and sitting outside was just want the doctor ordered.

The weather is perfection in Portland and I can't wait to spend the next four days enjoying it. It's pure bliss!

happy early friday

I'm taking off early this week to spend a day in Portland to celebrate my Mom's birthday. Since I haven't been home since Christmas (which is very unusual), we'll be racing around town for all the things we love - breakfast at St. Honoré Boulangerie, picking up magazines at the tobacco store, seeing friends and doing a wee bit of shopping. After our day of fun, we'll be driving down to San Francisco. It's something we loving doing because we stop in Ashland for a little treat at our favorite store, Prize.

I'm excited
to walk into our apartment Sunday to a fresh coat of harbor gray paint - crossing my fingers the hubby can handle everything while I'm away.

Have a lovely weekend everyone and as usual thank you so much for stopping by this week.

Happy {Carmel Getaway} Weekend

This weekend I'll be driving down the 101 with a friend to my family’s house in Carmel. I can smell the salty air already. The days will be filled with lots of wonderful food, laughter, relaxing, trips to the beach and sunshine. I'm hoping we get a chance to dip our toes in the ocean - weather permitting.

Going to my
Aunt’s and Uncle's is a home away from home because it reminds me so much of going home to my mom's house in Portland. My Mom, Aunt and I are all 100 percent the same in each and every way - from our design aesthetic, favorite tea, clothing, purses (I can't count how many we have that are the same) to our love for one another. I'm excited for this trip!

I hope all of you have something fun planned this weekend! See you all back here on Monday.

xoxo, Mrs. C

Wedding Wednesday: Kauai House

Last week, I featured some photos that got me in the island mood. So much so that I wanted to share some photos of the house we rented in Kauai. It was love at first sight when we found this little two bedroom house and we can't wait to get there.

I can't wait to cook dinners, relax read books and best of all it has a hot tub. I'll share all of the details with you when we get back.

Wednesday Wedding: Island Inspiration

When I thought Spring had arrived in San Francisco, the weather turned from beautiful blue skies to dark, cloudy and rainy. The only thing putting a smile on my face right now is the thought of being on my honeymoon in less than six weeks.

When I came across these beautiful seaside dreams feature that This Is Glamorous put together, it instantly made me think about how I will be sitting on the beaches of Kauai very, very soon.

I've been searching far and wide for a beautiful vacation wardrobe. I've succeeded in finding fabulous bathing suits, dresses and the perfect hat. But a girl always needs a few more things to put in her suitcase.

If you have any suggestions for last minute items I should be packing for my honeymoon, I would LOVE your recommendations!

Next week I'll give you a little sneak peek at the amazing house we rented.
