four favorites

The warm weather is still here, which means I've already run out of summer ensembles. It’s so rare to have glorious weather for this long - not that I'm complaining. So as I was shopping online, I found these items that I'd love to have in my closet for this heat.

1. Acne Moreau Chambray Dress

2. Ashley Pittman Pembe Horn Necklace

3. Lanvin Python Studded Heel Sandal

4. Pieces Premium Naysa Leather Shopper

Do you have any must-haves that I should add to my summer wardrobe?

for the love of herringbone + a giveaway!

All a girl really needs to get through her daily routine is a tiny clutch that fits her essentials – well ladies that wait is over. Herringbone is a local Bay Area handbag collection that makes it simple with only three sizes in an array of stunning colors. My current favorite is – black suede with rose gold pipping and zipper. I’m also lusting after the darling makeup bag that hasn’t left my side, it is in all black suede.

The collection is a joint venture from a dynamic duo - Shawn Burke and Camille Mason. Together they designed the necessary sizes that they felt were lacking in the market. Each are perfectly named: mini necessaire (perfect for makeup in your handbag), necessaire (fits all of your essentials) and the clutch (a little over sized and has the perfect bit of slouch to it).

Lucky for us, these lovely ladies are giving away the stunning gold necessaire to a Sacramento Street reader! Seriously readers, this is one of my favorite giveaways yet because I know how much I use my own, so I have a feeling whoever wins it won’t take it out of their hands.

To enter, all you need to do is . . .
  • Comment below about where you would take this fabulous clutch out on the town.
  • Be sure to follow Sacramento Street.
  • And pop over to Herringbone’s facebook page and ‘like’ them.
Good luck to all of you!

Available online at Herringbone Bags - $120 - $205.

Giveaway will be end next Monday, February 13th at midnight PST.

You're Invited: Celebrating CARROTS 4th Birthday!

CARROTS has been one of my favorite San Francisco shops since the day it opened four years ago. I vividly remember going by with my 7x7 coworker to write a story about the opening - back then I was an intern. Now, I'm dear friends with the two owners Melissa and Catherine. When you walk into CARROTS it's as if you're welcomed into their home. I cannot believe they are about to celebrate their four year anniversary on Thursday.

CARROTS is my go-to shop for basics every season. They have amazing lines that can handle being worn day in and day out. This year I'm coveting far too many items at CARROTS.

At the top of my wish list:

* Dean Hutchinson trench - ladies, this is the ultimate trench! You put it on and never want to take it off. I've got mine on order in a dark camel color.

* Tess Giberson's camel sweater - it's so soft I can see myself wearing it every single season.

* Jamie Josef's fabulous cocktail rings - I'm eyeing a few different stones.

There are so many fashionable treasures in the store right now. And if you're like me - I'm currently buying the essentials to keep me warm this winter. Especially with the cooler temperatures setting in.

Please come stop by CARROTS on Thursday. It's going to be one heck of a party with Taylor, Erin, Samantha, Kendall and I co-hosting! Above is a little sneak peek at my outfit ensemble for tomorrow night. Hope to see all of you tomorrow! For more details on the party - pop over here for information about rsvp'ing.

outfit: which one do you adore?

This week I decided that an outfit post for 'which one do you adore?' would be a fun twist to the normal interior focus. Since the weather is growing cooler and cooler every single week, I've been trying to figure out my favorite look for these chiller temps. Whether it's adding a scarf, coat, or sweater to my ensemble - I'm ready to pack on the layers. Have you started thinking about the key pieces you want in your Fall wardrobe?

So which one of these outfits do you adore? I'm loving number one for during the week and number six for weekends. Can't wait to hear what all of you think!

I'm Loving . . .

Perfecting a messy bun seems more challenging than wearing my hair down. Do any of you feel the same way? This one in particular is at the perfect height and is slightly messy, but not too messy that it looks like you just rolled out of bed. I'll be attempting it this weekend.

A delicious treat that's perfect for a movie night at home. It's the grownup version of milk and cookies!

Who doesn't need a little metallic on their desk? This is going on my Christmas wish list.

It's been another whirlwind week at work and after tomorrow's photo shoot I'll be ready to unwind at home being lazy and cozying up in bed with my stack of magazines I've been neglecting. Wish we could skip Friday and go straight into the weekend!

I'm Loving . . .

The details in a room is what makes my heart sing - the neutral palate and floor to ceiling bookcases do exactly that when I look at this room.

Need. Want. Must have this coming spring! Dries von Noten always seems to steal my heart every single season. I'll be saving my pennies for these beauties.

The cool San Francisco breeze is making me think long and hard about the next few months. This coat seems like the best go-to last layer that will keep you warm on your way to work.

This cheese platter is calling my name. The assortment of cheese, nuts, crackers and honey is absolutely perfection.

Lastly, Erica Tanov is having a fabulous trunk show tonight with the L.A.-based jewelry line, Kora. I've seen a few pieces in person and can't wait to see this darling duo's entire collection. It's going to be a lively shindig, so be sure to pop in between 4 - 9pm if you're in the Pacific Heights neighborhood. Hope to see you there!

I'm Loving . . .

This look is stunning. The camel cape with the classic button-up and black shorts is perfection. Fall is here and I think this ensemble would look beautiful with skinny black pants since bare legs would be a bit chillier this time of year. I'll definitely be testing out this look as the temps grow cooler.

The casual feel of this room has me swooning. There isn't anything over the top about it, which is what I love. It's simple, clean and ready to jump into at the end of a long day.

All I can say is YUM! Pumpkin anything is always delicious, so this recipe is going to the top of my husbands baking list because my mouth is already watering.

Don't you wish you could plan out every outfit this way? I certainly do when I wake up in the morning and can't decide what to wear. This outfit in particular has me so excited for fall layering!

If any of you have anything in particular that's inspiring you this week - whether it's a recipe, a room, a cute notebook you just picked up, or an outfit, I'd love to know!

simplicity . . .

This stunning outfit taken by Garance Doré is simply chic - the Alexander Wang skirt paired with a loose fitting tee and sky-high heels is exactly the look I'm going to try to achieve when getting dressed for my new job. Sometimes the simplest ensembles are the hardest to create. I'm hoping Mrs. Erin can come over to help me pair together some looks for my first week.

To get more inspiration, I've downloaded Bill Cunningham New York movie to watch on the plane to Portland this afternoon. Can't wait to finally see it!

it's friday + link love!

Can you believe it's the end of September? I certainly can't. With October just a day away, I'm loving the fall light as the sun goes down and the cool crisp air that has me wrapping scarves around my neck. Fall is by far my favorite season.

This weekend we're taking it easy - spending our Friday night tucked away at home cooking, lounging around the house during the day on Saturday and then ending the weekend by celebrating a wedding and a birthday. I'll also be going through my closet - the office attire at the new job is fancier than my current job, so I'll be brainstorming outfit ideas and seeing what I need to add into my wardrobe.

How will you be enjoying this weekend as we transition into October?

If you find yourself looking for some inspiration be sure to read these lovely posts:

* She's got the eye to create beautiful photos and I can't wait to follow her as she grows her career . . .

* I'm loving this autumn GIF . . .

* Huge congrats to Grant on his NY Times feature . . .

* This week Joslyn and I did a outfit deconstructed swap - check out both our outfits here and here.

* Throughly enjoyed reading this interview in South African Marie Claire . . .

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

I'm Loving . . .

When I came across this dining area I was in awe - the chairs, the tulip table, the exposed beams . . . let's be honest the list could go on and on. This is going to the top of my inspiration folder for our future home.

Fall is in full swing and although we've been having some abnormally warms temperatures here in San Francisco I'm bracing myself for the rain that's forecasted for next week. Time to bring on the cozy layers! These two ensembles are going to be my source of inspiration when getting dressed in the morning - they are spot on.
I'm craving new knits - although I have stacks of beautiful sweaters I always try to get a few special ones every fall. because you end up wearing them year round around here. This Vanessa Bruno sweater would be perfect with skinny black jeans and my Dries booties. Can you tell I'm already convincing myself to get it?

This is one of my very favorite homes I had to bring back. When I stumbled across a photo of it again I had to go back and look at the whole thing - it's just stunning!

What are you loving this week?

an outfit deconstructed . . .

A big thank you to the lovely Joslyn for doing this outfit blog swap with me - it was so much fun collaborating. Be sure to pop on over to Simple Lovely to check out my outfit - I'm all about wardrobe staples right now!

And don't worry, I think we'll be doing these a little more regularly!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Both Caitlin and I have recently lamented the sartorial challenges this time of year presents. We're over our summer clothes, but with warm days still the norm (at least here in Texas), pulling out the sweaters and blazers just isn't realistic yet. Enter transition dressing . . . or, more specifically, enter the transition dress.

My good friend Sharon turned me on to this dress. She has a "fancy" job (she's the director of advertising for a well-known beverage company) that has her regularly traveling to NYC and LA, eating in fab restaurants and working on set with the likes of say, Fergie. She also has two young daughters, so it's safe to say she's a major multi-tasker, and she happens to have transition dressing down-pat. At a recent playdate/breakfast at her house, she told me about this dress that she's been living in.

Apparently the entire advertising department at her company owns it in multiple colors...they're dressing it down with flats for days on set and up with heels and a great necklace for dinners out... bare legs on warm days and tights + a scarf in cooler environs. You get the idea. And here's the kicker, ready?? It's from Talbots . . . and it's majorly on sale. I bought one in navy and one in black pretty much immediately after she told me about it.

I've worn the navy one more times than I'd like to admit. Pretty much anytime I'm having a fashion conundrum, I reach for it. It's easy but makes me feel instantly pulled together, which is pretty much the ultimate in terms of what we expect from our clothing, yes?

The Details:

Dress -- Talbots

Bag -- Clare Vivier

Necklace -- Lizzie Fortunato

Shoes -- Maxx Studio
