I'm Loving . . .

This week's “I'm Loving” feature is centered around one thing - Jenna Lyons home that was recently featured in British Vogue. Although her home has been featured in dozens of magazines and sites, it's constantly evolving each and every year. Seeing how she changes her space brings me inspiration to do a little re-decorating of my own.

What makes this feature is the person behind the lense - Todd Selby. The way he captures a room is impeccable. I am crossing my fingers that he uploads some photos that weren't published on his site. Believe me ladies, it's worth picking up this issue for the images and the article.

j.crew bridal: a taste of luxury . . .

The first J.Crew Bridal Boutique isn't just for brides - thank god! If only I had waited a few months to get married (just kidding). Take a look inside the new store.

Could I just have one of everything? Those shoes are TO DIE FOR - I think I may have the perfect spot in my closet for these lovelies!

J.Crew Bridal is one of only two stores that carry Histoires de Parfums in New York.

One of many things I love about J.Crew is their jewelry. Every piece I've bought or received as a gift is beautiful and I cherish each piece I add to my collection. Don't you just love the way they display their jewelry?

Whether your a bride or bridesmaid or a guest at a wedding, there is something for everyone at this store. Just look at the beautiful wedding dresses to choose from - le sigh! They are amazing. Not to mention on the other side of the store you've got an array of stunning bridesmaid dresses. Any bridesmaid would be lucky to wear any of these dresses. I can spot a few I already love.

To end the night, J.Crew had Rickshaws available to take guest home for free - très chic. On the side of each of them it read, "Say I do to J.Crew."

J.Crew definitely pulled out all the stops for this lovely event. I can't wait to stop by the store next time I'm in New York.

J.Crew Spring/Summer 2010

Yesterday, I came across these photos in Lucky Magazine of J.Crew's S/S 2010 line and it made my day. I love J.Crew for basic's and statement pieces. Creative director, Jenna Lyons, has done an amazing job transforming J.Crew through her personal style. I love that you can go into one store and get chic, glamorous, boyish and girly outfits. Even though I haven't made a dent in buying my Fall purchases yet, I'm already excited about this Spring line.

House Envy: Jenna Lyon's Brooklyn Townhouse

Livingetc is one of my new favorite home decorating magazine. In their September issue they feature J. Crew's creative director Jenna Lyon's simple, elegant and chic Brooklyn townhouse. After two years of renovations and decorating Jenna and husband, Vincent Mazeu now have their dream home. One of my favorite lines in the article is how Jenna approaching interior design. She explains, "My trick has been to approach each area like putting together an outfit. You might start with an old pair of jeans, a cashmere cardigan, or a floral belt, and work around that central fashion statement." I never thought about interior design in that way but now it totally makes sense.

The George Sherlock sofa is outstanding. It adds the pop of color that people often don't have in their home or are too afraid to use. Another favorite of mine is the chandelier. Not only is it beautiful by itself but with the reflection in the mirror it adds even more impact to the room. Oh, I forgot to mention Jenna's outfit. If only I could work a J. Crew. Sigh.

What can I say. I wish I had windows that opened up like these. Plus, look at the beautiful trees.

I'm usually not a big fan of black walls but in Jenna's house they work so well. I love the way the fireplace pops out of the wall because of the drastic contrast between the fireplace and walls.

I've always been a fan of bedrooms and bathrooms being attached in this was. To me, it would make me feel like I had my own little abode in my very own house. Plus, the fact that if doesn't have a shower curtain. Oh la la!

This is my FAVORITE part of every apartment, especially this one. I mean why wouldn't it be. Plus, the fact that it's filled with everything J. Crew is truly divine. She's changed her closet since her apartment was photographed in Domino. I love the fact that everything is exposed. I would kill to have a rolling rack of clothes and to have shelves for my shoes like Jenna does. One thing that is unique about Jenna and Vincent's dressing room is that it's decorated like another room in their apartment. If I had a dressing room, I would do the same.

Don't miss of out of picking up the September issue of Livingetc. I promise it's worth it!

Happy Organizing!

Organizing is my task this weekend; I’m cleaning out my closet. Hopefully it will look like Jenna Lyons closet below once I am finished. Granted mine isn’t a room, but it could fit a queen size bed inside. I’m hoping this project will help inspire me on what to pack for my upcoming trip to Paris. Have a great weekend!
