winding down . . .

Over here on the West Coast we've had a serious drop in temperature. We went from 80 degrees to 30 - 40 degrees in a little over a week. With the temperatures dropping and the days getting shorter, it's time to hunker down in my apartment. I'll be prepping the linens, eating warm meals at home with family, taking advantage of my blanket addiction by curling up in a few with my never-ending stack of magazine I need to read and beinspired by. When it's time, I'll pick out the perfect holiday outfit to celebrate this year’s festivities - who doesn't love a little sparkle this time of year? What I'm looking forward to the most is having the alarm clock going off and being able to enjoy a few lazy mornings in bed.

What do you have planned this holiday weekend?

it's friday!

We're in for gray, foggy and rainy days ahead - it's time to bust out my Hunter wellies and Burberry trench coat. Tomorrow I'll behaving my apartment photographed - wish I could share pictures with you, but you'll see it soon . . . I promise. I'll try to see if I can share a few sneak peeks!

The rest of the weekend I'll be curled up in a warm cozy blanket watching old movies, finishing my book and going through my huge stack of magazines.

Have a lovely weekend and thank you all for your sweet comments about the blog re-design!

xoxo, Caitlin

uniform . . .

Last year I had a staple dress that I wore . . . well let's just say a lot. This dress from TOAST made my jaw drop - the color, the exposed zipper, the length. Maybe this can come home with me soon because I would wear it every single day!

loving . . .

Why not have tousled hair, a big chunky sweater and a killer hat? Seems to me like the perfect outfit for an autumn day. I might just have to try it for myself.

it's friday!

Is it fall? Because it feels like spring has arrived. The weather is gorgeous today - the sun is shinning bright, it's warm and there is no need for a coat or tights for that matter. I love when good weather graces us on the weekends.

I'll be running around the Bay picking up some last minute things for a photo shoot of my apartment next weekend and might slip in some early Christmas shopping. One stop I'm definitely making is to the brand new Erica Tanov store in Marin - I've heard wonders about how it's decorated (I'll share pictures next week).

Hope all of you have wonderful weekends and that you’re getting a little slice of sunshine like San Francisco.

watching the sunrise . . .

With the sun waking us up earlier than normal, I'm enjoying leisurely mornings seeing the sun rise. It's a time to get things done before anyone is awake - it's tranquil. Although it's dark out on my way home from work, I'd rather it be bright and beautiful as I'm driving in. What do you love about this time of year?

Found: Chunky Knit Sweater

A few weeks ago I posted this image below. Frankly, I couldn't stop thinking about finding my own chunky sweater to wrap myself up in this autumn. In the back of my mind I kept telling myself to find one, and without even looking I found the perfect sweater. Don't you love when that happens?

Let's just say, I've been wearing this J.Crew marled lambswool après cardigan every single day when I get home from work. It's cozy, the perfect weight and the shawl collar keeps my neck nice and warm.

Do you have a sweater you’re lusting after?

crisp weather

Can you believe it's already November? I most certainly cannot. Even though we had a hint of summer weather this week - there is a chill in the air. It's time to bring out all of my favorite coats (I have WAY too many)!

One thing I love about this time of year is that you step outside and can instantly tell it's autumn by the smell in the air. Don't you love this time of year?

autumn walks . . .

There is nothing more magical than the sun setting over the Golden Gate Bridge. Eric and I have been enjoying orange light when it is setting - before dinner walks around our neighborhood is something we cherish while overlooking the bay.
