TGIF!

As temperatures rise across the country I'm longing to see a break in the clouds with a sliver of sunshine beaming down. It's high time for Bay Area weather to peak over 58 degrees. So I'm bringing myself a little bit of hope and inspiration for when those days come in the near future (right Mother Nature?) . . .
A light and airy summer dress is definitely a must-have for warmer temps and of course who wouldn’t want to pair it with a chic hat . . . do you have a favorite this season?
Warm days call for spending as much time outdoors - eating breakfast while reading the newspaper, curling up in that perfect spot to catch some rays and of course throwing impromptu dinner parties to savor the sun setting a little later as each day passes. What do you have planned to take advantage of the warmer temperatures? Indulge me because it's supposed to rain this weekend.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone! Enjoy the sunshine where ever you might be.

Caitlin

striking sun light

With the sun shining bright and the air oh-so warm, it's time to break out long dresses, bright pops of color and of course, show off your legs. With temperatures raising to above 80 degrees in San Francisco it's definitely the perfect opportunity to do so. What's not to love about warm sunshine?

a breath of warm weather . . .

The saying "April showers brings May flowers" is what I find myself saying when a cold rainy day approaches in April. I always hope that it will turn my frown up-side-down. This year has been unseasonably cold throughout the entire country and I think we're all ready for some warm days spent outside reading with a cold glass of lemonade and gathering around an outside table for late night dinners or mimosa brunches. So mother nature, if you can hear me, could you please send all of us some warm rays of sunshine?

TGIF!

It's time to step into April - I'm excited for the weather to warm up (hello 75 degrees), wearing bright bold dresses and picnics in the park. It's time to enjoy the outdoors!

This weekend is going to embrace all of these things. I'm looking forward to soaking up some sun while we play softball and a light sea breeze keeps us cool. I'll also be heading to the Alameda flea market - I'm hoping to find some treasures for a client. What are all of you up to this weekend?

May April bring fun new endeavors to all of us! Have a lovely weekend everyone.

xx, Caitlin

easy breezy . . .

Everyone around the Bay Area is cherishing this glorious weather. The sunshine and light sea breeze is heavenly. In came crisp cotton sheets, light summer blankets and beautiful blooms. I'm soaking up all of the rays while I can, because let's face it, we'll be experiencing "June gloom" soon.

let it rain . . .

Although we've been hit with buckets of rain, I'm enjoying every minute of it. When else can you slip on your wellies and jump in puddles? It instantly made me feel like I was a little kid again. So much so that at one point I jumped into one giant puddle and got my husband completely soaked from head to toe – whoops!

wrap me up . . .

This morning my number one goal was wrapping myself up in my favorite chunky sweater and heading into work. Alright, I know it's not as cold as other parts of the country, but for San Francisco it's downright chilly. Hope everyone is staying snugly warm today!

lazy sunday . . .

Outside the rain keeps coming down, and it just won't stop. Because of the rain, I'll be hibernating at home getting things crossed off on my to-do list. What are all of you up to this Sunday?

staying warm . . .

Temperatures are below normal in San Francisco. I shouldn't be complaining but I get goose bumps every time I step outside into the cold sea-breeze weather. When I came across these Wrist Worms the other day I knew I had to pick up a pair for myself. They come in an array of colors (hello shades of gray) and are perfect for someone always typing away (that's me). I might pick up a few pairs for stocking stuffers as well.

it's friday!

We're in for gray, foggy and rainy days ahead - it's time to bust out my Hunter wellies and Burberry trench coat. Tomorrow I'll behaving my apartment photographed - wish I could share pictures with you, but you'll see it soon . . . I promise. I'll try to see if I can share a few sneak peeks!

The rest of the weekend I'll be curled up in a warm cozy blanket watching old movies, finishing my book and going through my huge stack of magazines.

Have a lovely weekend and thank you all for your sweet comments about the blog re-design!

xoxo, Caitlin

happy friday!

Days like today are why San Franciscans deal with fog - blue sky, minimal wind, warm temperatures and the sun is shining bright. This weekend I'll be at the beach getting some much needed vitamin D.

Enjoy your weekend and thank you for stopping by Sacramento Street with all of your lovely comments; they made my week - especially about my paint samples.

white + light . . .

June is officially here, and I couldn't be more excited that summer is just around the corner. I'm excited to wake up to the sun gazing in my windows, fresh flowers from the farmers market in the apartment, sun filled days by the ocean (I sometimes forget how close it is), and changing my bedding over to clean crisp whites - there's something incredibly refreshing about that.

What do you looking forward to this
summer? Farmers markets? Picnics in the park? Weekend getaways out of the city?

a day by the bay . . .

Can you believe Wednesday is already here? I can't. This week has flown. I want to apologize for not posting anything today - it's been a hectic week and our company enjoyed an afternoon sitting by the bay for a long lunch. Long leisurely lunches should be a requirement everyday - it completely rejuvenated me.

I'll back tomorrow lovelies! Thanks for understanding

dreaming of sunshine . . .

Yesterday, if felt as though it was January - rain pouring down in every direction, umbrellas turning inside out and layers of clothing needed. Usually May isn't too bad, but this is beyond acceptable. I’m longing for sun filled days, light pouring in my windows, and days reserved for reading. Ahh . . . wouldn’t that be nice. For now, I’ll be waiting patiently for the sun to peak out from under the gloomy clouds.

Brighten Up Your Day

After a nice long relaxing three day weekend (I didn’t even open my computer until this morning) was just what I needed. Since it's pouring down rain here in San Francisco, and feels like it's the middle of the night because it's pitch black outside, I thought I'd post an inspiring picture to get me through the day.
I hope all of you had a fabulous weekend and that you’re having better weather than us San Franciscans.

Time to Bundle Up

It’s on days like today that I wish everyone could work from home. James Merrell’s photos make me want to curl up in my favorite blanket on my couch with a warm cup of tea. Today we have what Forest Gump once said “little bitty stingin' rain... and big ol' fat rain. Rain that is flying in sideways. And sometimes rain that seems to come straight up from underneath.”

When I came across these images a few months ago I knew I’d one day use them for a stormy day. The simplicity of the photo on the right is what I adore, the couch with the fuzzy warm blanket and the simple stool as a side table. Who doesn’t love a warm blanket with a stack of magazines? I know I do.

Rain, Rain, Go Away

Our first rain storm has hit San Francisco. It's so dark the street lights were shining bright this morning on the way to work. Hopefully, I won't get too wet during this two day storm, but that’s not likely since I got drenched walking just a block from the car to my office.
