currently coveting janezic . . .

Everyone is craving fall fashion - the sweaters, coats, boots and scarves! This season I'm counting down the days, hours, and minutes until the new Janezic collection hits stores. From the colors, to the designs, I've fallen madly in love with all of her fall pieces.

And if you want to get to know Michele Janezic a little bit more, be sure to read this lovely feature in Where SF. You'll get the inside scoop on how she gets inspired and what she thinks about California's style.

I'm Loving . . .

What can I say, I'm still obsessing over stripes . . . my pile is growing weekly, which I don't consider a bad thing. This ensemble is perfect to throw on for a San Francisco summer day.

I've been daydreaming about my summer in Paris a few years ago. I put on an Isabel Marant top I bought and it instantly made me want to go back, sit in a cafe and watch the fashionable people stroll by. Hoping to go back soon.

All of us need to remember to slow down - just like Jessica talked about in this blog post. This weekend I'll be turning off the computer, embracing the sunshine up in Napa and getting a little R&R with my husband.

A few years ago I never thought I would be where I am today - working in publishing, doing interior design on the side and writing a daily blog. Everyone needs to remember that sometimes the unexpected is the right way to go. So if you have a feeling about an idea or working with a group of people jump on it, because you can always pick yourself up if it doesn't work out, but just remember if you don't try you'll never know what could have been.

What are you loving this week? A room with a view? A handbag you've been lusting after? Do tell!

snapshots: tennessee valley

I spent this past Saturday afternoon in Marin hiking in Tennessee Valley. It instantly put my mind at ease - there is nothing like being surrounded by nature. This walk in particular is one of my favorites because when you turn that last corner and see the big ocean in front of you it feels like there is no other place on earth like it.

sneak peek: glitter guide shoot

This past Sunday the Flemming household was taken over by the amazingly talented Glitter Guide team, Taylor and Alicia. Let me tell you, there was never a dull moment - from the constant humming and dancing of Alicia, to the wardrobe changes, to the wind blowing my hat off my head (got to love SF's gusts of wind). Let's just say we had a blast and I'm excited to share just a few sneak peek photos that Alicia took throughout the day. You'll have to wait to see the rest once Glitter Guide launches mid-June. Enjoy!

true beauty . . .

Week after week I sift through tons of stunning images that take my breath away. When I came across these images by Gentl & Hyers I was in awe - thanks to the lovely Jessica of Destined to Design. As I flipped through their portfolio my heart started beating harder and harder . . . all of them getting better as I clicked away. Since I was blown away, I thought I should share these beauties with you. Enjoy!

sneak peek: home sweet home

Happy Monday! This weekend was filled with lots of quality time at home. Saturday, the talented Chloe Aftel did a photo shoot at my apartment - I wish I could show you the photos. She and her assistant were a pleasure to work with. It was inspiring seeing how they see a space when they photograph. I'm counting down the days until I get to see the final images. Of course, I couldn't help but show you a few vignettes for the shoot.

What did you do this weekend? Did you do any prep for Thanksgiving? Read a good book? Whatever you did, I hope you had a lovely weekend.

a day by the bay . . .

Can you believe Wednesday is already here? I can't. This week has flown. I want to apologize for not posting anything today - it's been a hectic week and our company enjoyed an afternoon sitting by the bay for a long lunch. Long leisurely lunches should be a requirement everyday - it completely rejuvenated me.

I'll back tomorrow lovelies! Thanks for understanding

10 Things That Make Me Happy: sfgirlbybay

Happy Monday! This weekend San Francisco had spectacular weather. The sky was bright blue, the sun was shining down, flip flops and sunglasses were needed. Spring has finally sprung!

Today, I couldn't be more thrilled to have Victoria the editor/writer of sfgirlbybay. I've been following sfgirlbybay for years and I'm inspired day after day by the posts and images Victoria posts. Her interior design blog features new product reviews, shopping tips that include art, photography and design resources, all the while offering affordable design inspiration and ideas. She also encourages individuality and unique, personal style.

Some of you might not know, but we were fellow Pacific Heights residents until recently. Victoria is moving away to the other side of the city, my other favorite neighborhood Noe Valley. She and I will have to meet up in her new hood at Chloe's, my "secret" brunch place.

Thank you Victoria for blogging here today, I couldn't be more flattered. I hope all of you enjoy this sneak peek into how she's going to decorate her new home. It's a treat!

******************************************************

I'm excited to be sharing 10 Things that Make Me Happy here with y'all today -- especially since I'm moving into a new home I rented in San Francisco's Noe Valley neighborhood. You know how it is when you're moving -- out with the old and in with the new. So, I've got quite a few things I've been coveting for the new decor!
Clockwise from top left:
1. I'd like a new cushion made for my tulip-style Saarinen desk chair. I love this one made by Brooke of Pure and Noble. I'm not sure what she'd charge for this, but we are chatting about it!

2. I am desperately seeking a vintage high boy dresser, like this one I saw on The Brick House. I am scouring craigslist for a fixer-upper I can get cheap (less than $100) and paint a nice glossy black for my bedroom.

3. I plan on keeping my bedroom very simple and peaceful, and I love this little lamp I just picked up from
Hindsvik's vintage etsy shop ($60).

4. I love this beautiful
Magnolia photographic print by Traci French, available at the Beholder online art gallery. I'd like to paint one wall a dark charcoal/black and I think this would look stunning hanging on that kind of dark background ($245).
5. My new (old) kitchen tile is black & yellow, so I'd love some of these cute teatowels from Skinny Laminx ($12.50).

6. There's a little dining nook right off the kitchen and I would love two
black Eames Shell Chairs from Modernica ($325 eachto go around my white Knoll Tulip Table. (this chair photo via door sixteen)

7. My bathroom has that crazy retro tile, so I think this 'Failure Is Always an Option' print would be fun, from
Lino Cut Boy's etsy shop ($14).

8. I have a backyard in the new place, and want to find a
vintage farm table, or wood picnic table on ebay or craigslist for the patio. I plan on hosting lots of outdoor dinner parties!

9. I also love the idea of some and some mismatched vintage folding cafe chairs (less than $50 each). I like these I saw at Maison Reve in Mill Valley.

10. I also plan on growing lots of edibles, so I'm really loving Gayla Trail from
You Grow Girl's new book "Grow Great Grub" ($19.99).

Wedding Wednesday: Guestbook

This is one of my (many) favorite things about the wedding. Instead of a traditional guestbook, we're going to have our guests take fun photos of themselves and put the photo in our special guest book with a note or friendly word of advice.

Both Eric and I think this will be something we'll be able to look back on for years to come.

Plus, it'll be fun to bring on our honeymoon. I have an obsession with Polaroid pictures!

A Gorgeous Duo

These girls know how to have fun. This entire Marie Claire photo shoot looks like it was a blast, probably because of the bond Jen and Jessica formed while filming Valentine's Day. I can't wait for this movie to come out, I love chick flicks.

Reminds me of how my girlfriends and I act when we're out shopping or having dinner together.

Great photos, gorgeous clothes, lots of smiles and laughter. That's all a photo shoot needs to be a success.

Perfection: Malene Birger's Home

There aren't many words to describe this Cophenhagen home, except for the fact that it's utter perfection. Danish fashion designer Malene Birger's home is filled with treasures that any women would dream of having.

The photos speak for themselves; the coats, shoes, earrings and decor are perfectly placed. Skona hem did a phenomenal job photographing this inspiring home.

Just Because...

This is currently one of my favorite photos. I want for my apartment, particularly my kitchen. Wouldn't it just be great in a kitchen? I remember the days eating the soft, fluffy, white bread. Brings back a lot of memories from my childhood.

The amazing photographer behind this photo is Leslie Williamson. You can currently see it and more of her photos displayed at Erica Tanov in San Francisco.

Wednesday Wedding Update: Engagement Photos

When we first met with our photographer she asked us all the questions any photographer would in order to get to know us better. But one thing she really loved was the idea of doing our engagement photo session at the SF Giants ballpark. We live with baseball eight months out of the year because Eric works for the Giants. I'm personally already counting down the days until the season ends. Don't get me wrong, I love baseball, but I'd like to have someone at home to eat meals with.

Anyway, back to about our engagement session. We had the ballpark to ourselves. I have never walked around a stadium with nobody getting in the way or bumping into you. It was serene. We had the whole place to walk around (except for going on the field). It was magical. I've got to say that our pictures came out amazing.
After the ballpark we went to the gardens around the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park. To get some more romantic shots without the Giants symbol behind us. I'm so thankful that our pictures came out as good as they did. They came out exactly how I wanted and they embody who Eric and I are in real life. Thanks Erin!

Photo Weekend

This weekend Eric and I are taking our engagement photos. It’s something I never thought we’d do. We're taking the first half of the photos at the SF Giants ballpark (it will be completely empty, except us) and the others at Golden Gate Park or the Palace of Fine Arts. I'm looking forward to seeing how they turn out and praying that it doesn't rain. I have full confidence in our photographer Erin Beach. Her photo journalistic approach to photography is why we wanted her to shoot our wedding, along with the fact that she is so sweet. Cross your fingers it doesn't rain!
