Finding a sample for spring that transitions into summer is hard to find. I've been searching far and wide for a go-to outfit but couldn't find anything until this week. This casual but chic ensemble was exactly what I was looking to find. The heels and leather jacket dress up the look, but the rolled up chinos and gray tee make it a little more casual for the months ahead. It must have been fate that I came across this because I just bought a pair of chinos from JCrew this weekend with a girlfriend - I left hoping to find inspiration for styling the pants, and voila, look what I came across.
I'm hoping these oxfords have a home in my closet soon! Have you found your staple look for this season?
This past weekend I had the pleasure of popping into the JCrew in Corta Madera - my favorite location in the Bay Area (Carmel's is out of this world too!). As I walked into the store I finally felt inspired to transition my wardrobe from winter to spring. It's time to bring out the cotton and color and store the wool. We all know that I'm a stripe-aholic - beware my fellowstripe lovers, the store is packed full of striped goodness along with pops of color that had my creative outfit juices flowing (Alicia and Taylor would have been so proud). In the end I walked away with loads of inspiration about what to do with clothes I already own. I also walked away with a pair of slouchy khaki pants to roll up.
I'm ready to bust out some pops of color in the next few days - especially since the sun is shining bright! Where are all of you finding spring outfit inspiration?

Since we've decided to stay in our apartment for a few more years I spent the weekend sifting through back issues of magazines for light fixture inspiration. Next week will mark our five year anniversary of moving into our apartment. When I first moved in I didn't think we'd be there for more than two years. But being in an amazing neighborhood, in a top floor apartment that faces a park is pretty rare. Last June we FINALLY painted and it completely transformed the entire look and feel. It's now a cozy oasis that feels more permanent since it's what we want. Now all I can think about is changing out the plain jane overhead lighting.
I'd love to find something like the above fixture - it would work well in either our kitchen or dining room. So my dears, the search is on and if you have any inspiration or favorite fixtures please link to them or let me know where you've been finding some lighting gems.

This morning I had the pleasure of waking up as the sun was just rising in order to make a small trip to the flower market. It's always hard to force yourself out of a cozy bed that early, but when fresh blooms are awaiting you it's completely worth it. As I walked into the flower building the air transitioned into a scent I didn't think existed. It was heavenly. There were flowers of every kind in bloom and when I finally hunted down my coveted dogwood, lilac and ranunculus I was a happy camper, ready to take on a Friday filled with work.
Spring has finally arrived and I'm ready to spend some quality time at home enjoying the all of my fresh blooms.
Hope all of you have a lovely weekend ahead of you and if you pass a flower stand, be sure to pick up something special for yourself. All of us deserve a little something after a long week of work.
xx, Caitlin
PS. Don't forget, it's the last day to enter the Lo & Sons handbag giveaway! Be sure to enter before midnight tonight. I'll be announcing the winner on Monday.

What a busy week, I've been running around working 24/7, but when you love what you do working around the clock doesn't seem to matter. I've posted this office multiple times, I find it an incredibly inspiring place to work day in and day out - don't you? Someday, I hope to have a office this beautiful!
With that said, I've been turning to my trusty skinny jeans, camel tote and adding a touch of spring with open toed heels and a light weight top. The perfect combination for my hectic schedule. Do you have a go-to outfit that you gravitate to when you're on the run?
At least tomorrow is Friday . . . hip hip hooray!

The gorgeous simplicity of this entry is truly divine. Along with the unique woven radiator, which is brilliant. Why can't they all look this chic?
Hope each and every one of you had a marvelous weekend. Anything exciting happen? We had a wonderful low-key anniversary, which is exactly what both of us needed. A little drive up to Napa was the perfect way to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you all for the well wishes.
I'm ready for a lovely week of possibilities and the hopes that it goes by quickly.
